ALUMNI: Mosbaugh kickin’ it for Pepperdine swim team

Jessica MosbaughFormer Griffin swimmer Jessica Mosbaugh (LAHS ’12) continued her strong Fall showing for Pepperdine University by winning both the 50 and 100-meter breaststroke at the two-day Mustang Invitational swim meet.
Mosbaugh (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos HS) has now won eight races this season, already the highest win total of any Wave swimmer in recent history. In the 50 breaststroke, the sophomore won by over a second with a mark of 30.68.
The 100 breaststroke was owned by the Pepperdine standout, who beat her closest competitor to the wall by over five seconds. With a final time of 1:06.22, Mosbaugh collected her third win of the season in the event.
A week earlier, day two of the Malibu Invitational was owned by Mosbaugh, who won four races yesterday and earned top-five honors in an additional three events
Jessica MosbaughMosbaugh won the 400 IM on Friday, October 25, then followed that up on Saturday with wins in the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke,as well as the 50 backstroke. She has now won six races through two meets this season.
Her 50 breaststroke time of 30.20 set a new personal record.While her signature event is the breaststroke, Mosbaugh enjoyed success in the 50 backstroke as well with her first-place time of 28.85.

Mosbaugh also placed second in the 200 butterfly (2:10.44), fourth in the 50 butterfly (26.97) and fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:58.37).
